Enjoyed celebrating our independence yesterday and I am excited to have today off as a paid Holiday! We really do live in a wonderful county. I have some fun pictures of our celebration yesterday. As you can see the Red, White and Blue theme was the choice of attire for everyone.

I am thankful for my family. I pray that they have the assurance of salvation, but I really don't know. (which is probably my answer)

We played BINGO and FARKLE after our delicious Lunch. Good TImes!

Sweet little Caroline is a joy to get to see. We read a book outside on th porch and then drew with some sidewalk chalk.

John biked home even though it was a very HOT day.

A Cherokee Legend

Do you know the legend of the Cherokee Indian youth's rite of passage? His father takes him into the forest, blindfolds him and leaves him alone. He is required to sit on a stump the whole night and not remove the blindfold until the rays of the morning sun shine through it. He cannot cry out for help to anyone. Once he survives the night, he is a MAN.
He cannot tell the other boys of this experience, because each lad must come into manhood on his own. The boy is naturally terrified. He can hear all kinds of noises. Wild beasts must surely be all around him. Maybe even some human might do him harm. The wind blew the grass and earth, and shook his stump, but he sat stoically, never removing the blindfold. It would be the only way he could become a man!
Finally, after a horrific night the sun appeared and he removed his blindfold.
It was then that he discovered his father sitting on the stump next to him. He had been at watch the entire night, protecting his son from harm..
We, too, are never alone. Even when we don't know it, God is watching over us, sitting on the stump beside us. When trouble comes, all we have to do is reach out to Him.

Moral of the story:
Just because you can't see God, doesn't mean He is not there.
'For we walk by faith, not by sight.'

Aww what a wonderful thing to wake up and find a nice check deposited into your account over night. I am using mind for my vacation this summer. I can't wait, yet I don't want to wish time away so I will enjoy spring and try to save that money to stimulate the economy in August.

Aiden 9 months

We had a enjoyable weekend with Aiden visiting. He is a little flirt always smiling and happy. He sure loves his Aunt Samantha. He is crawling and pulling himself up. Got to love him!
And that is what inspires me to smile.

Time to trade the gas guzzler in

It was time to make the big decision ,keep the 2005 Kia Sportage that was paid in full, but got terrible gas milage on city driving (which is where I work). Or Trade it in while It was still fairly new and worth something for a more fuel effient car. The last think I wanted was a car payment. What to do What to do?? I was nice to have a 4X drive vechical, but it doesn't snow much anymore. I was nice to have room to haul things, but could we find that in a more fuel efficient car? Time to go out and see. Our internet research lead us to Eisenhauer Nissian in Wernersville. We drove a 2007 dodge Caliber and after talking with the salesmen who seemed to want to work with us, the decison was made. Time to trade.
Meet our new 2007 Dodge Caliber. This car is sweet, and that is from someone who isn't that into cars. Heated leather seats, chill zone for beverages, cvt transmission, 2.7 liter. Everything we were looking for it still have storage room in the back and has power, but it is very fuel effient esp. on city driving with the transmission that doesn't change gears. And the best thing It was all but an even trade. If you are lookiing for a car see Dan Hassler at Eisenhauer Nissian, we enjoyed working with him.

Sure doesn't feel like Fall yet!

With another wonderful warm and sunny weekend behind us, I finally have time to add to my blog. Where did September go? Maybe because I had Bronchitis for the entire month, or maybe because the weather stayed so warm,but for some reason I have had time to write on my blog.

Today during Sunday school, I took the senior high teens to visit a elderly shut in lady that lives with-in a mile of our church. It was a blessing to me to see the teens go and try to minister to this dear lady that is under Hospice care. I pray that God will use to bless all involved.

Also this weekend we were blessed to have Tony, Jackie and Aiden come down to visit. Aiden is 3 1/2 months old already and as cute as can be. It was so easy to get him to smile and laugh. He certainly is a happy little boy! Check out these pictures of how cute he is!

Ok I broke down and signed up for a myspace account. I know I know I always said I didn't like myspace, and I still don't like the advertisements they pop up all over that site. But the truth be told I love taking pictures and sharing them and this myspace is a great way to do just that. So I hope I can be a light in the darkness of myspace.

Church Summer Picnic

This evening we had our annual Summer church picnic. It was hosted at the Lewis home. They are great host who often have the youth group over also, since they have a lovely in-ground swimming pool it was the perfect location on this very very hot and humid August day.

Celebrating Dennis' 42nd Birthday

Yesterday we celebrated Dennis' birthday at Ruby Tuesdays! Our favorite restaurant. It is so nice to grow old with someone you love so very much. I think one of the hardest things for me on the Mission trip was sleeping in separate dorms from Dennis. I wasn't even thinking ahead of time that it would bother me, but it did. There was so much excitement all day long and I really missed having someone to talk to about it at the end of the day. We did meet in the morning and go across the street for breakfast at the bakery/deli. There we were able to talk and discuss the things of the day before. I diffinitely would say my love for Dennis has grown through the entire mission trip process. My love for God increased on the trip too, because of the opposite situation. God was with me through the entire trip and I can remember asking for help, laughing and thanking him for the children he brought to the VBS, and Asking for help when things seemed out of our hands. It is wonderful to have a God who cares and is there to care about even the little things in life.

And that is why I am inspired to smile!

We arrived home exhausted but also Blessed

We touched down Sunday night exhausted, but feeling O so blessed to have spent a week in Patillas. We all have so a deep love and respect for the Westerband family. They were fantastic host. They work tirelessly with the people of Patillas. Spreading God's word to the people there, that don't have a saving Knowledge of Christ' love. What Generous, kind loving people.

Well my eyelids are going closed so I will share more pictures later.
